Senior Project Manager / United States

Role description
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for interfacing between M-Files customers and the M-Files services team to ensure projects are defined, planned, scheduled and managed to completion. From feasibility to closure, the Project Manager will manage delivery within strict deadlines, budget and scope and is accountable for the end to end delivery of planning, execution and communication of multiple client projects. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for portfolio management of the assigned projects as an engagement or program manager.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for project activities and the resources assigned to the project. Assures all projects are initiated and planned with appropriate project scope statements, and defined with supporting detailed requirements, design documentation, and statements of work. 
  • Responsible for the development of detailed project plans to assure activities are understood and commitment is gained to meet overall project objectives. Utilize appropriate framework and tools to prioritize and plan tasks and the resources needed to accomplish them.
  • Identifies skill set requirements for projects to ensure qualified personnel are assigned to projects/programs
  • Works effectively with internal and external clients, third party vendors and senior management in accomplishing project objectives
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Execute project debriefs evaluating the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
  • Facilitates both the internal and external communication paths for projects; Seamlessly partner with the Sales, Professional Services and Product Management teams to coordinate the efforts of team members, including Subject Matter Experts, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Technical Consultants, as well as third party service providers to support multiple projects
  • Establish and execute a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project
  • Generates and gathers required project information to ensure proper execution of projects
  • Tracks and reports progress to plan, cost and schedule reporting, and change control
  • Analyzes the actual performance against the plan and makes adjustments consistent with plan objectives
  • Manages relationships with project stakeholders, including internal and external clients and vendors, keeping the stakeholders informed of progress and issues in order to manage expectations on all project requirements and deliverables
  • Arbitrates and resolves conflict and interfaces problems within the project
  • Evaluates complex situations accurately and identifies viable solutions that create successful outcomes for the customer
  • Assures scope and requirements are monitored and controlled throughout the project. Monitors and controls project delivery within determined budget and timeframes. Identifies, communicates and strategizes to resolve project risks and issues. Monitors and manages change requests 
  • Conforms to overall corporate methodology to ensure consistent approach to implementing and/or designing systems. Contributes to the implementation and continual improvement of services delivery and project management methodology and processes 
  • Exerts team leadership by directing assigned staff toward achieving defined project objectives through clear communication of expectations, managing complex schedules and guidance of standards, policies, procedures and methodology. Provides regular feedback to project team members on performance against goals and objectives 
  • Travel could be as high as 25% or more

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7-10 years project management experience with experience in large, complex projects and management of distributed project resource teams
  • Bachelor’s Degree; Preferred in Project Management, Engineering, or Business
  • Managing IT/software delivery projects involving database and object-oriented solutions
  • Guiding projects from initiation to close, ensuring requirements are met for each stage
  • Leading small to large project teams
  • Significant client-facing experience at technical and executive levels
  • Managing all financial aspects of the revenue cycle in project portfolio
  • Experience improving and automating business processes through the application of technology
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Proven ability to communicate ideas with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments, with proven skills to create order from unclear requirements and highly leveraged resource pool
  • Strong people skills and an ability to listen to the customer and translate their needs into specific actions and solutions
  • Proven ability to manage through obstacles and resolve conflict
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project

  • Ability and willingness for continuous development of the working methods and processes in project delivery area and sharing the best practices to other project managers in M-Files
  • Willingness to support colleagues when requested or if notices someone might benefit the support or piece of advice
  • Shows positive attitude amongst own team and all M-Files personnel and shares the same attitude towards our Customers building a good project relationship
