Technical Consultant, APAC Channel Sales / Australia

We are now looking for a Technical Consultant to join our Channel Sales organization. As a member of the M-Files Channel Sales organization, the Technical Consultant is responsible for providing technical pre-sales and post-sales support to the APAC Channel Sales Team and business partners in the APAC region, main focus in Australia and New Zealand. Additionally, this role will be working on delivering product technical trainings and technical consultation to M-Files channel partners, in co-operation with other Technical Consultants. The position can be located either in Melbourne or in Sydney. 

This position requires a self-starter with proven technical skills based on previous experience. This position operates at practical level with close daily alignment to Channel sales activities in the APAC region. To succeed, you must have a strong technical aptitude, as well as the ability to see the big picture and be able to scale out the work you are doing.

You will work closely with the Channel Account Managers as well as with your Technical Consultant colleagues. The exact role and responsibility split between you and your colleagues will be discussed and decided during the process.

Your primary day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Be the go-to technical resource to address deep product related questions and demonstration needs.
  • Provide comprehensive technical and application support to M-Files prospects, Channel Account Managers, and channel partners remotely and on-site.
  • Answer sales organization and channel partner questions relating to M-Files products, competitive products, and technical issues related to product integration within the customer’s unique environment.
  • Conduct on-site and web-based software demonstrations and training courses with a subject matter expert quality level.
  • Develop scripted demonstration materials that are repeatable by the sales team and channel partners.
  • Develop as required, tools to support the channel sales team and channel partners.
  • Assist in identifying customer and business partner needs and requirements to better qualify potential prospects for M-Files solutions.
  • Assist business partners with technical guidance related to RFP/RFI responses.

Requirements for the position:

  • A BS or MS degree (or equivalent) in computer science, IT, engineering, or other technical field.
  • 5 years of technical consulting or technical support experience or similar.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Preferably knowledge of document management or enterprise information management technologies and/or knowledge on other enterprise information systems like Dynamics AX, SAP, Salesforce, etc.
  • Knowledge of databases (especially SQL) and/or programming.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, with high regard for quality and consistency of communication.
  • Ability to cover the technical details of our product succinctly.
  • Presentation and training delivery experience is a plus.
  • Preferably knowledge on enterprise level hardware specifications for information systems.
  • Ability to travel within the APAC region up to 30% of the time.
